Migizi Wazason Child Care Centre where the Early Years Education works

Migizi Wazason Child Care Centre, with it’s Early Years Education team, strives to provide a warm, caring atmosphere. It provides quality care along with the support of families. All aspects of a child’s development will be our emphasis. Therefore this would include their emotional, cognitive, social and psychological needs.

Migizi Wazason is a place where children feel at home. Our team of dedicated Early Childhood Educators provide a safe, healthy, inclusive, and learning environment that is nurturing for children.

Our vision is for children to live in harmony with their surroundings, their culture and their community. Each child is special and has unique and beautiful gifts to share with their world. We believe our role is to help develop and inspire the children as they become who they are to be.

Additionally, our philosophy is to value every child as strong, able and resilient. They are full of curiosity and knowledge. We believe in the innate curiosity of children and aim to assist them with understanding their world and who they are in it.

Curriculum activities include stories, music, crafts, outdoor play, science, elders, traditional teachings and special visitors. We modify activities for each age group. We encourage parents and families to discuss their child’s needs and development with the staff.

To this end, Sakatcheway Anishinabe Elementary School has joined with the Migizi Wazason to create the best in early childhood education.
