Our Partners

The Learning Hub is proud to be working with our many partners to further the education of our students. On this page you can learn more about our partners.

Anderson Therapy Services

Anderson Therapy Services

We are proud of the relationship that has been fostered over the past 18 months (beginning in September of 2021). Anderson provides speech and language therapy to 19 students in our school. This therapy, carried out virtually, has seen incredible success with many students. The therapy is carried out with the support of an educational assistant who is with each student during their therapy session.

Sullivan and Associates

Sullivan & Associates

Sullivan and Associates, over the past 2 years (2020-2022) has conducted roughly fifty Psychoeducational assessments. These assessments help the Resource Centre determine what services are required to help each individual student on their learning journey. Each assessment report identifies the needs of the student and recommendations are made about how best to meet those needs. When decisions are made about how best to help students, we have the data necessary to make the right decision.

Kenora Chiefs Advisory (KCA)

Kenora Chiefs Advisory Ogmaawabiitong

KCA provides a number of services, directly and indirectly, to the school. We receive our Occupational and Recreational Therapy from professionals who work for KCA. We work closely with the Family Navigator to ensure that services are provided at home if required. KCA also provides services to the community which has an indirect impact on our school.

Vocalinks

VocaLinks

Our relationship with Vocalinks is relatively new (October, 2022). Vocalinks provides us with the speech to text software (Dragon Nuance) that allows some students with physical limitations or intellectual challenges to use speech to create a written document. We provide state of the art computers and headsets and have placed these computers in various classrooms and in the Resource Centre. By providing this assistive technology, we are better able to gage what a student knows rather than their ability to be able to write it down.

Measure of Academic Progress (MAP)

Measure of Academic Progress

Our partnership with MAP began in November of 2022. MAP is a student progress assessment and tracking tool that allows the school to determine what progress is being made from one reporting period to the next. Each assessment provides detailed information about skills that need improvement and strategies for differentiation so that each student experiences academic progress. The assessments are carried out 3 times per year and will measure English, including reading, and mathematics from grades 2-12. All students will be part of MAP.

IXL Learning

IXL Learning

IXL is an online math and English support tool that is used in the Resource Centre and most classrooms. Once teachers have taught a skill, students can use IXL to practice the skill all the while collecting certificates once certain milestones are met. This is a great reinforcement tool that teachers can use to track the skills students are practicing and if there are any areas of concern or material that may need to be retaught.
